ICAO has published new analytics on the participation of licensed female aviation personnel in the workforce. The status of licensed aviation personnel by gender reveals that the participation of women holding positions as pilots, air traffic controllers, and maintenance technicians has increased on an overall basis from 4.5% globally in 2016, to 4.9% in 2021.

IATA statistics show aviation is improving gender balance through initiatives like 25by2025, with women in senior roles reaching 31% and flight deck numbers hitting 6% by 2025, though technical roles (pilots, mechanics) remain low (~5%), highlighting persistent gaps despite overall workforce growth to 41% women.

The percentage of women pilots in service increased from 3.6% to 4.0% globally, with the highest increases being observed in the Asia Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean regions. North America scored highest globally with 4.6% women pilots, followed by Africa and Europe with 4.1% and 4.0%, respectively.

Through partnerships with airlines and aviation institutions, we offer internships and work-shadowing opportunities. These experiences provide young women with invaluable, real-world exposure to the aviation industry.

Events and Networking

We organize signature events like Beyond Horizons and career fairs, offering networking opportunities and professional development- bringing together industry leaders and aspiring aviators for growth and collaboration.

Educational Programs

WFW hosts workshops, seminars, and speaker series on topics ranging from flight operations to aviation leadership. These programs equip women with the knowledge and skills to excel in aviation while building connections.

Mentorship Programs

These programs connect aspiring aviators with industry professionals, fostering growth and development. We currently support over 20 mentor-mentee pairs globally, tracking progress through virtual check-ins.
